1st) something wrong with your cooler its probably not attached well. and ur processor is overheating and it shutsdown.
2nd) u may have overclocked your pc
    3rd) your processor is dead.

reasons why both elly and farhad are wrong:
    1) the pc boots up
2)he already said his proc is not overheating(but other componets may be overheating)
3)overclocking makes random shuddowns, not normal shutdowns
4)if his proc is dead his pc woudent start up
5)if his powersupply is bad, it would have blew not shut the pc down normally

the hint to solving this thing...THE PC SHUTS DOWN NORMALLY

LIKE AS IF U HIT SHUTDOWN IN XP

    and i pwn

hey guys, thanks for the suggestions, it was actually over heating, the cpu/heatsink w/e.. had to put some special gel/paste on the underside to help transfer the heat away.. when it over heats it usually beeps a few times after it shuts down.. it wasnt this time and i dont know why

Yeah, that's what I would suggest (I had the same problem), but you said it wasn't overheating... so I left.

I had the EXACT same problem. Dust started building between my fan causing it to slow down which over heated my PC. The PC has a built in thermometer that shuts down after certain temperatures. Just clean your fan out and possibly use insulation.
