But you must be pretty sick to do this to someone.
OP said the kid would be in that single room forever, with no outside contact. The kid would be mentally challenged.

A majority of cognitive growth happens within the first 5 years of a child's life. If this was done for 10 years, even 5, there is no hope for average cognitive abilities. It's a common occurrence in cases where parents lock up their kids for years.

And/Or suffer extended delirious hallucinations. I've heard that individuals subjected to more than 45 minutes in the Orfield Anechocic Chamber will start having incredibly vivid delusions.

But if he is going to be in there for 10 years. Then after 10+ years wouldn't he be able to communicate with people? Like start to socialize, even with like gestures.

That's like plucking a caveman and placing him in modern society. Wouldn't work.

I often wonder the same thing. I had wondered what would happen if I put the baby in water as soon as he was born and let him live there and feed him cooked fish.
I think he would drown but if he didn't and grew gills that'd be cool.

Because humans are not adapted. That is like taking Nemo out of water and making him your pet lizard.

    Ahh. Thank you.
But he would still communicate in some way, right?
