Who wouldn't go with an i7? people have a budget, and i7 nowadays are overkill. Top end i5's are good and i7's are basically name-fame.

Yeah but for gaming best value is amd for cpu and gpu. I prefer intel but amd is very good too.

amd is cheap, and very bad quality. If you're restricted on money and want a decent build then go amd, but amd has many flaws.

i had amd cpu i think it was amd phenom 9950 first amd quad cores on the market. I had it for 4 years and it was overclocked on 3.2 Ghz on air. So i cant say amd is bad, i have now amd 7970 its 6 GB edition and it runs every game on ultra 1920x1080 resolution. amd is not bad at all i can say and quality is decent.
