    This pretty much sums it up. Look at your budget and get the one that fits it.

    Do you know why AMD's processors are cheaper? because they are worse than the Intel ones. AMD is great if you have a budget if not just go wild and get a 3970X
    Why spend 400-800 dollars more if all your missing is a few tweaks that aren't even noticeable that much.

    Yeah, but I didn't buy my Itanium 2 for no reason. AMD got no IA64 architecture.

    Yeah, I have my FX-8350 OC'd to 4.2 GHz without losing any stability whatsoever, and it costs a fuckload cheaper than a 3970K. I could care less about Intel when I can pay hundreds less for performance that suits my needs perfectly fine. You don't need to spend 1000 bucks on a processor unless you are rendering graphics/CGI.

    I actually don't care. Aslong as i can play my games i'm happy. But i'm always been a Intel guy, so INTEL FTW.

    Bang for buck != better

    There's this guy who posted a picture of his AMD single core CPU temp, it was 90 degree all day long.

    And not a single fuck was given that day.

    I'm not loyal to either side, and I've been switching between them for years. All depends on who has the better deal each generation.

    I have an Intel Pentium Dual E5500.
    Does alright, but this computer is 3 years old.
    Wish I had a better one.

    AMD has always been great value for it's capabilities.

    Indeed, and they stay competitive for years in the future. The Phenom II is still a entirely viable option despite being over 4 years old.
