Compatability Question

Many people say to change the compatibility of CA to 2000/95/etc., but i dont see why this is necessary because the hacks don't interact with CA, but with Engine.exe?

Please don't yell spam... Obama (or any of the other (awesome) GMs) can ban me if he deems it necessary.

Vista = Windows 2000
XP = Windows 95
I don't know why, but it just doesn't enable if you dont switch the comatability.

I find you should never change compatibility when running VISTA when you do you will get an error message saying that....
"Combat Arms is running in compatibility mode and will now shut down."

Edit: HackinJosh he was simply adding for any admins that could possibly be viewing this thread, please lighten up and don't act like a mod.....

Engine.exe is the executable that starts CA. You have to inject files into the Engine.exe for them to work in CA.
In short, Engine.exe and CA are the EXACT SAME THING.
Change the compatibility of the engine, change it for CA too.

I cant do it for engine.exe i get the comp mode error
I dont if i just change the CALauncher to comp mode
and the hacks work fine for me

Yes but i never change the Compatibility mode of the Engine.exe, i simply change the comp for CA. But changing one changes the other because they are virtually the same thing

You're actually backwards... CA is the launcher for Engine. Engine is the game's process. right?
