you can learn what ddos is by using a search engine such as google, try that before asking what something is. There is about 5 or 6 other threads talking about the recent aqw crashes most of them saying they are being ddos'd personally i don't think that's it but i wouldn't rule it out as a possibility.

I really hope its not a ddos, that would be some bullshit, I spent like 300-500 in the last 5 years on that game
