Except this thread is wrong. It was even possible to get keys yourself for awhile. And I'm not sure how this bit works exactly but Garry or someone also gives keys to those that are Gold Members on the facepunch forums. So it's far from being "everyone selling keys is scamming".
Rust actually seems interesting
Anyone trying to sell them in quantities is an obvious scammer, I didn't say about the whole single key thing. Yes it is true that you could play the game for free but then the game got overloaded with users so they limited it. I don't think that it would be possible in the amount of time that the game was open that you could get a decent amount of keys and sell them here for such a low price.
Sorry I was tired last night so the beginning didn't come out as intended, by "It was possible to get keys yourself" I meant it was possible for people to go to a link on the rust website and generate the keys themselves. This was fixed in a day or two but it did happen.
Really looking forward to the final release of Rust.
