Confused about Post-Ban !

I'm new here and want to know about that post bans

Why you ban people when they reach a count of posts " 1337 , 2K , 3K .... "
How much the ban takes " Cuz I saw some people saying it's 2 years O.o " Is it really ?? :\
And if it seriously 2 years , can the banned one request to lift the ban ??
Is it necessary to get banned after reaching the amount of posts ? or just by the choice of the member ??

If you can explain more about post-bans " more than asks I mentioned above " then it's great .. and most points I need to know are :

1. They are banned because it lets them have a break from MPGH.
2. 1 day, but they set it as 2 years and unban you the next day.
3. You can't request to lift it.
4. Not needed, but you are only banned if you make a thread about it in general.

But me must be worried "I posted a thread about this yesterday " :P …… But I still didn't get it … can someone explain but seriously not jokes ?? Is it really 2 years O,o and how I'm not allowed to request un ban ?? if for example they forget to un ban me after the day has left :/
