It's unlikely that any player is going to make it to the boss without being noticed, as the majority of the time, at least one person will check and let his/her team know. In addition, you'd be dealing with a boss that deals 500-1k damage per strike. That's why almost everyone goes for the brawlers in addition to the restorers because killing the captain only ends the match, but doesn't award any additional trophies and takes more effort than killing the brawlers.
