Will this graphics card go good with my processor?

I bought a pre built pc a year ago because i never knew anything about computers then but now im going to buy upgrades and i looked up and found my graphics card was lacking and im going to buy a new one.

    My specs atm:
Processor: AMD A8-5500 overclocked to 6.25 ghz (I don't really know but it says 625 in msi afterburner so)
Graphics card: AMD Radeon 7450 Graphics card

I dont know the rest at the moment but since it was pre built the power supply is made for it

Im planning to upgrade to a GTX 650 and my power supply will be EVGA 100-B1-0500-KR 500W

So will this go good with my processor or will i have to upgrade that aswell?

I Know a bit about computers now but its just that im confused about what cpu's and gpu's are good and bad.

Thanks for the help in advance!

That would be physically impossible, especially for a card of that quality. The highest it'll run is 3.7GHz.

You're indeed right that your video card is bad, and I mean absolutely destitute.
As for your suggested replacement, I'd personally get something a little more powerful.
    Perhaps a 7770 or a 7790.

The products include chips that cannot be unlocked. The quad-core A10-5700 runs at up to 4GHz and the A8-5500 runs at a clock speed of up to 3.7GHz. The chips draw 65 watts of power and have 4MB cache.

Advanced Micro Devices' latest A-series quad-core desktop processors balance the need for speed with price -- they run at up to 4.2GHz, but can be overclocked to 6.5GHz with liquid nitrogen cooling, the company said.

You would most likely get acceptable framerates on Mid to Low Settings.
With the 670, you'd have no problem running at 1920x1080 and Max Settings.

It'd be incredibly easy for the 670, but coupled with that CPU you'd probably only be able to achieve Mid to High.
I'd suggest upgrading both of them.
    What's your price point?

Well i don't have enough money at the moment to upgrade both but what i was going to do was buy a new graphics card during the end of this year then buy a new cpu next year which would be a 6 or an 8 core.

I could get you a fantastic CPU and a great GPU for the same price as a single 670.

Well the 670 is $380-400, so you could get a:
AMD FX-8350 for $199. (More than 2x as powerful as your current CPU).
Radeon HD 7850 for $170 (More than 11x as powerful as your current GPU)

For any of the FX series CPU's, yes, as it's an AM3+ Socket.
Alternatively, you could get a new AM3+ Mobo for about $70, an FX-6300 CPU for $120 and a Graphics Card for about $110-130.
The CPU socket your current Mobo has is a bit old, and doesn't have a chance of upgrading in the future.
