Or...build a banshee/mr, and if AD build a maw which basically blocks off his ap nukes.

Banshee doesn't do a lot vs. a decent Veigar, it is quite annoying and you will lack a part of your damage, but E + DFG + W + R should do the job just fine.

I used to main him in ranked.
Went really well, almost won every single laning phase.

He is strong indeed but easy to kill if you have a gapcloser + cc.

Kassadin was permabanned back then like Vayne and Thresh are now.

And more like... I pick Veigar, and enemy ADC day is ruined. I can tell you, I never failed to one nuke enemy ADC in a teamfight since eh... You know, Silver ADC positioning.

Veigar has the second best burst in all AP champions at level 6, Syndra is first.

Kassadin is quite good, huge base damage and with few AP you can be unstoppable.
But I think that Cassi is strongest AP, one time I was in a bot game with Cassi with around 300 AP, she could 2 shot me with her abbilities, and it was a BOT GAME!
