I'm going to be studying computer science and need a good laptop that has at least a 14" screen, can dual boot linux, and has good battery life without weighing 18 tons. I already made a thread about this in general but I forgot that this section was here lol. Can anybody help me out?

What's your budget?
Not too familiar with laptops but maybe something like a HP Pavilion m6 may be usefull.
Then go for one in the shops/supermarket websites e.g PcWorld and try to look for something with good space and cpu. I have a HP Pavillion G6 it was cheap and well worth it for the price but if you want good specs for low price build it yourself (lel) so you can save a couple hundred bucks and spend it on Microsoft Office or whatever.
Something like this should suffice;
Newegg.com - DELL Inspiron i15RV-8524BLK Intel Core i5 6GB Memory 500GB HDD 15.6" Notebook Windows 8
Seeing as you're only using for school you won't really be needing a GPU at all.
i5 CPU's are also fantastic, and to be fair you won't really need anything specific.
Including a 15.6" screen ^ ^
