yes league changed it up a bit although there is no penalty to playing the game but yes u do infact actually have to play for your reward, ur just assured ur ranking and team and o btw but the teams mmr hold up for next season so odds are u can get it again next season as well

By the way, Riot is reverting and changing the rewards to how they were when Season 2 ended.
There's no official word from Riot concerning this, but I guarantee you it's bound to happen.

you do realize you could still buy teams last season too right? there is no change they can make to prevent selling teams other than something extreme like resetting team if u add someone to it so stop trying to screw with people to get them not to buy a team if they want one
