You don't donate to the site for name changes and to update your image tag anytime you want. You donate to help the site out. They give you privileges in return for donating to the site. They could deny your requests(if they wanted to) and the only thing you could do about it is charge back, but then you would get banned.

Well.... Actually the intention doesn't matter. Whether they donate money to the site, they are indirectly/directly helping the site (depending on their intention). So either way it doesn't matter. If you spam requests (5 requests/day for example) then it'll probably get you banned.... But no one abuses the system that much.
