Chakra hasn't made sense in Naruto and it still doesn't. Naruto seemingly has an infinite amount of chakra due to the 9 tailed beast. If Naruto didn't want to "waste" chakra then why did he give some to protect the cannon fodder? If all Naruto and Sasuke had to do was combine, why didn't they at the beginning of the arc? It's all so Kishimoto can milk Naruto for all the cash he can get then retire (hell he already can) and fap to lolita like Kentaro Miura did a long time ago.

You asked why did Naruto give the cannon fodder chakra to protect them? Well it's simple, to you they're cannon fodder, to him they're his friends and he doesn't want them to die. Sasuke and Naruto weren't together at the beginning of the arc, and during the entire arc Naruto and Sasuke have been developing. So the Naruto and Sasuke at the beginning of the arc isn't the same Naruto and Sasuke at this point in the arc...

I doubt Kishimoto could ever produce another series, his artistic talent and writing are third rate in the manga world as is, when naruto finally finishes he'd probably only sell the volumes from name recognition then die down.

:/ It just boils down to bad writing and trying to stretch out this arc as long as possible.

Make all the excuses you want, I don't really have to explain the extreme amount of "filler" writing going on here.

He'll only put down his lolita eroge when he runs out of money, then he'll make a volume and go on hiatus again. Rinse and repeat. He really should get working on it though... his last chapter was like a year ago. Being sick isn't an excuse either.

I couldn't tell you. It was fun when I was 10-12, but so was every cartoon at that age.
