Anyone else here think that if the badguy goes to this extent to make his evil plan come to fruition, that he should at least have some conviction?

It's happened a lot now that I think about it, Nagato wasn't the first or the last. I think Neji was the first unless Zabuza counts. It's like over time Naruto's words gain power as he does physically. The only that he hasn't convinced was Sasuke and in the end he didn't get his revenge so he doesn't even matter. He's a fail character that's evil one second and good the next.

I would agree wih all of those except for Itachi and Madara. Itachi was never evil in the first place. Madara is still pretty evil and I am willing to bet that he's gonna do something to take over Obitio's spot in the upcoming manga's. I just hope he doesn't have some "change of heart" that would be lame.

Just because Itachi's love for his brother was always there doesn't mean that he was never evil in first place. Nor does the fact that he ends up helping Naruto after his temporary revival. He was still pretty fucking evil for the majority of his presence.

Finally, Naruto got a full upgrade: now he is able see the flashbacks of other people. At this point of time Naruto can spam flashbacks, distribute flashbacks, and infiltrate into flashbacks, it's confirmed - Naruto is a master of flashbacks!

And the fact that Itachi by his own definiton was a pacifist. None of his actions were commited with any malicious intent, but to preserve peace. Now if he had slaughtered his clan for some reason likethe aqucisiton of power that would be a completly different story.
