Going competitive is a pretty terrible career choice. You have a job for 2-3 years MAX, with average pay. That is if you are in the top 0.0001% players.

You would be better off if you started to stream, streaming provides a lot of money for some players

In fact, competitive is a good choice if you really like gaming.
You will have job for 10 or more years. Don't forget lol pros were dota pros, and HoN pros.
I'm sure in 5-6 years there will be a new moba, where lol pros will play and became obviously pros.

Now the payments, currently LoL is paying 1M to the team that wins, couting with 5 members + 2sup and a coach.
They don't need to waste money on clothes/food/house, sponsors pay you everything.

Pros;
- GOOD source of money (35k per month if you're really good)
- You're famous. Who don't like being famous?
- You got a big house for you and your teammates.
- Plenty of gifts from sponsors.
- You attent big LAN and that crap.
- You can play all day and night.

Cons;
- You got a small social life
- You can't party hard when you want.
- You can't sleep all day.
- You need to achive what the "boss" wants. If boss wants you in challenger, you better start getting into challenger.
- Away from family all year, pretty much that.

I'm planning for challenger next season. I'm currently plat 3 but climbing. I know a few diamonds and 3 pro's that may be able to help me in the future to get a team or w/e, so thats always a plus.

I also have friends in pro scene, 3 of them are challenger, rest between plat-dia 1.
I'm plat I myself, but I don't see me in pro scene, I rage alot(I don't flame ingame, I rage with my wall for example) and I make bad calls everytime. (Im crazy enough to go 1v3 or something even low hp.)

I've played with ocelote once and athene.
Oh and played vs hotshotgg in yoloqueue

You won't get ranked reset next season.

It's a soft reset, means your CURRENT mmr + 10 games will determinate your placement on ranked.

I'm plat I and I will duoq with a friend that is diamond III, if I win let's say 6-7games, I will be diamond V. :3
