just like with all of the other ridiculous rules on this forum, it punishes the legit users that just want to share their mods...

Again with this bullshit, if the site tells you that you're unable to post links then you are unable to post links.
I guess if somethings broken you try to start it over and over too?

if i have to go out of my way to spam 10 posts on random threads just to post links, then yes it is a punishment. other forums don't require this and you don't see them spiral into chaos

This is a common practice on forums, and I doubt this is the first time you have heard of it, and it is for our own good. So judge the wrong doers not the peace keepers.

i'll judge the jerks that would rather make every user work harder to accomplish a simple task rather than come up with a real solution. and i never said this wasn't a common practice, but i'd hardly call it an ideal one. like i said, other forums don't do it and from the looks of it they don't have to.
