How to activate serial key of BO2?/?

Hello everyone. I just bought a key of BO2.
Its look like this AQWR-HJU9-EIL8-MUWD-HZWA.(Not a real one offcourse.)


How to activate it?
Because it does not work on Steam. I dont have the DVD at all.

When you type in the serial key and it 'does not work', what is the message given?

I'm trying to activate it on steam. But a friend of mine sad it is a CD key.

BO2 CD Keys are in this format: 1AB2C-D3FGH-456I7
When you activate key on Steam, does "Invalid Code" or "Duplicate Code" error appear ?

Add game -> Activate product on steam -> enter key -> profit.
Game toevoegen -> Product activeren op steam -> key invoeren -> voila.

This means you got scammed or they accidentaly sent you wrong key..
Where you did you buy it ?

It's a DVD Retail version I think.
It's from a Steam guy called..... He removed me from steam.
Scammer alert I guess.
