Anyone know how to skip parts of Fomorian base as kai?

During one of my Maelstrom runs on The Contract I noticed that a kai and a lann skipped part of the map[Refer to 1st image], the specific map is where you can walk up the side of a mountain[Refer to 2nd image], to skip the barrier in the third image that I didn't bother keeping up. I'm guessing that is where the Lann or Kai actually performed the skip, though I had no idea since they did it whenever everyone else ran up ahead (probably to not reveal the skip).

The kai said he did something similar to a super jump from Halo.
