Also, I've only ever seen professionals using tablets in PS. My tablet works wonderfully with it. Unless you have a source for that claim, it's not a valid argument.
That's indeed what i've been saying: PS handles tablets ALOOOT better than GIMP
But since i draw/write like a headless chicken...it won't affect me at all hehe.

And may i disapprove the use of the word "beginner"?
I call people by that word if they're completely unfamiliar about something, not grasping how such thing works.
Actually i'm pretty quick in GIMP and i can deal a fine variety of effects,i'd rather call myself a novice.

P.s. i actually use gimp (not often tho) since 3 years,i learnt everything i know by myself,so i am afraid i'd be a really hard time to switch from GIMP to PS.

Btw,except tablet support, what are the disadvantages that GIMP has over PS?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable

A lot. GIMP is no where as good when it comes to Photoshop, most Graphic Designers use PS over any other type of picture editor.
You should just save yourself the trouble and switch, since Photoshop is also owned by Adobe which you view other adobe products with other adobe products.

Not to mention if you are even more extremely into it, you can get your certification from adobe as well.
