At its core a Name Faker is a program that will allow you to change your name in a game without using Steam. This is 1 advantage to using a name faker but the key aspect of it is to make it harder to report you for hacking/boosting/modding. Essentially since you are not using Steam to change your name then the name you enter into the name faker does not link back to your Steam profile or any other online profile unless someone has the unlucky chance that they are using that EXACT same name. Keep in mind, while effective, the name faker DOES NOT make using any hack 100% safe nor does it protect you from reports being issued against your ACTUAL gamertag since it does not remove your REAL gamer tag from the Leaderboards or Lobby Leaderboards. The name faker was a very effective tool in avoiding bans in MW3 against the IW enforcement team but not VAC. Like any hack on this website always use at your own risk and try to play smart with any hacks you use.

As for the way your question was regarded by those who have replied so far I am sorry. not everyone here is as rude about questions being asked. We were all where you are at 1 point or another in learning what everything is and what everything does. i hope I have helped you get a better understanding of what a name faker is. Did not know you had replied before I posted my long winded response. I don't know if he is trolling or not but I figured I would answer anyway since the flaming replies kinda upset me since he is a newly registered member.
