Need help with fraps..

So i play CS:GO, and i tend to do amazing stuff on it and wish to upload it to youtube. unfortunately i do lag when i use fraps but i get like 200 ~ 400 fps when playing cs:go.

COMPUTER:

Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 TI
CPU: i7 -3770 @3.40 GHZ / 3.90 GHZ
Motherboard: Gigabyte technology
RAM: 16gb
HDD: 2tb
SSD: none
Case: AntecAntec 9-Hundred Two (902) V3 - Ultimate Gaming Tower

Can my computer handle recording CS:GO at 120/60 frames persecond with fraps on FULL-SIZE? or do i have to upgrade some things

ahm,the thing is fraps is very demanding,but your cpu is very good; what i suggest is or a SSD,that will bump up the FPS by quite a bit,or a capture card, i heard good things about the avermedia portable,or the problem MIGHT be your 660ti that is not exacly fitting a 3770 price wise,a 280x might give you better results...but it might not do a thing.

Im definately looking into getting a SSD card but im not sure if brand matters. Is there one you could recommend to me with a budget of around 150?

How much storage you want? I can vouch for kingston SSDs since i have the 120gb one 300v model ,it wasnt very expensive but its extremely great and costed me about 70$,maybe the 256 gb fits you well?

oh ,yes check if you have a SATA 3 port available for it,so you will have a way to connect it to your machine,and also what is there to set up? you need to create a partition called whatever you want it to be and select it the place you want fraps to save the movies to,also id recommend you to put the games you are recording on with fraps,to make write and read speeds only affect the ssd

There is no need for an SSD.
It will not give you 'higher' FPS.
What is the R/W Speed of your hard drive?
And, try using DXTORY, It is far superior to Fraps and doesn't knock down your fps nearly as much/

LOL. Getting an SSD will not boost your FPS in anyway.

But it's possible that your HDD is to slow for recording? What exactly lags? the game or the video (The recorded file)
