Just do a system restore to a few days or week ago when you know you had all the games.

I would've needed to have backed up all the files wouldn't I? If not, how do I do the restore?

No I think your computer auto does it. Restart your computer and when it gets to the loading screen it will say F12 for restore or something like that.

If it's not hardware failure, you've done something you shouldn't have.

It doesn't necessarily have automatic back up or restore-points.
Some people unknowingly disable it to save HDD space.
