    I used to despise anime...

    Yesterday I donwloaded Death Note and already watched 3 episodes. Holyfuckingshitfuck this stuff is brilliant. It's such a simple premise yet so intelligently done (notice L's deduction methods to find Kira aka Light). I currently rate it with a 10/10 on IMDb, right there with Breaking Bad (10/10) and Game of Thrones (9/10). I hope it maintains quality through the remaining 34 episodes. Which anime should I watch next?

    Anime is pretty amazing. It clearly surpasses any American cartoon out there and multiple top ranking TV shows.

    You should check out shingeki no kyojin (Attack on Titan, the show in @Horror 's avatar and signature) , Sword Art Online, and also Angel Beats.

    If you really liked Death Note you should check out Code Geass. Lots of the same concept are used. Like trying to change society through violence, however Code Geass does it on a grandiose scale with wars and what not. I also highly recommend Fate/Zero. It's literally the epitome of epic.

    Anime's cool, but there are cases manga is by far a lot a better.
