Poem/Lyrics: The Mercenary

Hey, here's another poem (lyrics for a song to be precise), that I wrote some time ago. It's about a mercenary that has been forced to kill his loved one.

Blue = Chorus
Green = Verse
Red = Bridge

Well I am a mercenary, I kill for money
And if you're in my way, I'll take you away
As I see the darkened skies, I see blood in your eyes

This time you got me for good, faith never understood
There's blood on my hands, going to no man's land
As I'm taking my last breath, I can't say I'm awake

I'd never thought we could go this far, I'd never thought it could turn out like this
I'd never thought you'd make me do this, I'd never thought I'd kill you

In a blink the bullet pierced right through her heart, the heart of the one I loved, our hearts torn apart
Now it's too late, no you're gone, what have I done? What have I become?

I still see your face in the mist, I can still hear your voice in my head
We will be, together forever, even death cannot do us part

So I am a mercenary, I kill for money

Was saving his life, really worth giving yours? And not only give yours, I've just killed us both
With another bullet gonna end this misery, make the pain go away

This is not fate, we reap what we sow, no one else to blame and it's my own fault, I know
In this moment the pain, is so unbearable, end of the line, suffering is mine forever

Obvious ending: He suicides by shooting himself with his gun.
Alternate Ending: He will take revenge by killing his employer and then gets killed by his guards, leaving everything he had behind.
Alternate Ending 2: This pain will be with him forever, rendering him a broken person with no hope to live but he wouldn't suicide. He punishes himself by living and suffering.

One more thing, the blue is too close in color to the green.
