"My Little Project" February

Ok, so in light of recent events and my way of dealing with things and expressing myself I've come up with an idea to avoid getting hurt and hurting other people by letting others into my life, I can express myself without anyone other than family know. It's hopefully a project I take on for a long time, as it'll enhance who i am whilst also decorating my room to make it my "haven". Each month I edit a photo with a text effect and one word that sum's up the month or a significant experience in that month and print it out (decent prints, not shitty a4 ones out of a $20 target printer) to stick on my wall. Hopefully I'll have enough to cover my wall in no time.

It's not completed yet, and still has a long way to go. I just uploaded to get some feedback and advice on it.



Background story: Coming to a realization that I've been a massive cunt to a lot of people and have ruined friendships, other peoples lives and some peoples reputation, I've decided to become someone else. embrace all the hate I get, but not let it shape me. But, that someone else isn't who I really am, I'm just going to practically mute myself, stick to listening to music instead of being a class clown, pull my head out of the gutter and strive to be a better person.

Some of the letters are way too smudged, mainly the middle ones.
Rest is perfect!

Hmmm, I'll finish what i'm thinking of doing then if it doesn't look that good i'll try making it less blurred. I'm thinking of either putting crimson red smoke coming off the text or possibly some blood dripping from some of the letters.

I have a feeling you might not get the hang of it when working with blood textures, because looking at the letters, it would become too red and it would probably make more difficult to read. However, I dont know what sort of experience you have, you might be very skilled and do a good work (Im speaking a bit like if I was going to do something like that in your situation).

About the red fumes, make it a mix between red and pink because the bg is already deep red, and the white is too small comparing to the ammount of red present.
I suggest either make the bg a bit darker so you can work better with the fumes effect (also more pleasing for the eye of the viewer).

To be honest, i'm a complete rookie. I've been messing around with some effects and have bearings in the program im using (paint.net) but i haven't followed many tutorials or anything like that. I was moreso looking towards the fumes as i think it'll go nicely with the text. i'll probably go for a faded white/grey kinda colour, the blood was just an idea i threw in. I'll try a pink ind of colour though, maybe it'll turn out nicely. at the moment im just having trouble importing brushes

Grey fumes might not be the best, but again, depends on how you apply them.

Good point, i'm not very arty.
But im thinking of doing faded white fume trails from the letters and making them overlay so they blend in with the back colours

It looks amazing, but the text isn't very clear, maybe reduce the light a little bit
