Should video games be considered a sport?

First, let's start off with the definition of a sport.

an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

I believe sports can be considered a sport since it fills most standards.

I mean if fishing is considered a sport, why not video games?

I feel that the word 'sport' itself has lost it's meaning over time. Not the competitive part, not the part that requires skills, but the part that requires "physical exertion". The meaning of 'sport' has changed pretty much. :/

So in conclusion, what we call sport today would definitely include video games. If chess is a sport, why can't video games be?
But if we're talking about the actual definition of sports and not what we socially accept as a sport, then no, video games is not a sport.

Heck no. I can't think of a single inspiring person who plays E-Sports. E-Sports consists of playing against other people at pressing buttons and hitting keys.

To be fair, if video games were a sport then any arcade game, any indie game, or anything could be considered a sport.
