Could this also work with weapons? if so please say so.
this has worked for me once as i got the idea to try it out of curosity since its similar to what i do on rust to dupe.
1. run your game and get into a server that has a delay(when you drop a item it takes awhile to spawn on the ground), bring up task manager and go to processes and find Dayz.exe, click end process so you will get a confirmation Do you want to end 'Dayz.exe'?
2. go back into the game and drop a item such as your backpack and immediatly (idk if this part is nessasary, unplug your ethernet cable) alt tab and click end process so dayz closes. plug ur ethernet cable back in and rejoin the same server and hopefully you should have your backpack on your character and one on the ground. let me know if it works for any of you

i am not sure i only tried it once with a backpack, i just tried it again with my assult vest for ammo and it didnt work, but the item showed up on the ground the second i dropped it so that could have been it, its 50/50 if it works im not sure if i got lucky the first time or not

Why not just equip it in your hand and then log out and back in?
This appears to be patched on the experimental build.
