Need helping building / Buying a PC Gaming.

Well,I'm looking to buy a PC to mainly play MMORPGs,so I was wondering what would be the average cost route to go,Some people have told me that building your own computer is the best and most cost effective way to go, but I have no clue how to put together a computer, let alone buy the hardware/software to do it. If I did end up building my own, is it even possible for someone who doesn't know much about computers to do it?

With shit like Everquest Next coming, yes. MMORPG's are getting quite fancy, in terms of graphic quality.
