I like the over-all look of it. But I recommend using a different font and adding a border to the part of the signature where its not white.
Overall assessment: 7.5/10

7.5/10. It's a bit too bright for me, but I like everything other than that and the font.

It's not difficult or something .. He can just choose a font that not confusing any one when reading the text .. That's all ^^

So I can't tell you how to be a great designer @taken4time, but I can tell you some font suggestions.
I personally like: League of Gothic. You can find it online at like dafont or something.
It's free. Try it out.
Try messing with the kerning of the type it self.
I find that those style of signatures look best with small san serif fonts.

Thank you for taking the time to type this out, Thank you for the suggestion of font, as for kerning.. I honestly don't know what this is.. I'll google it later if I don't forget.
