Most original anime are more entertaining from ones with manga cause if you read the manga most of the time you will compare the 2. But animes like one piece which have a manga but can really out do itself. Since they can always try to improve from the manga and make the anime better

Depends. Anime that don't have adaptations can be very good (KLK, Evangelion, Gurren lagaan, ghibli shit, etc. etc.).
But there have been a lot of animes that either were original or based off a relatively short/new series at the time that have turned out mediocre or just flat out bad.
Also, when anime adaptations of a long running series don't follow the original series due to incomplete problems, it 9/10 times sucks for the ending.
Soul Eater, Ruro Ken, Gantz, Berserk(old one), Hellsing(old version), and SDK all have a shit endings/filler parts because the author wasn't anywhere near finished.
(i'm waiting on HxH's ending, because the next arc is good, but the author will probably never finish the series.).
Then you have the problems like Soul Eater or Tripeace where the series gets cancelled and *boom* instant shit ending.
While I think that they can be better, overall I think anime adapted off light novels have the highest potential. But yeah, I think they can be better depending on the studios.
With adaptations people go into the anime expecting everything to follow script completely and usually find more faults with them.
I personally don't read many LN's so it's all new to me so i don't mind either way.
Yeah LN's are pretty good for adaptations because usually most LN's aren't that deep and the anime can do a lot.
