    Cracking/Editing Rez Files

Hello everybody. i somehow managed to stumble upon a .rez file extractor made by a member of this site: https://www.mpgh.net/forum/members/B1ackange1.html

i was wondering if some of you wonderful members could use your google powers to help me find out a few things.
There are a few file formats that i cannot find out how to open. here they are:
.D-X-T (Remove The '-' In There.)
    .SPR
    .LTB
    .LTC
    .DTX
    .FX
And Obviously, A .Rez Compiler (Take Every Single File From X Directory, And Compile It Into A .Rez).

I Can Listen To Lots of .Wav Files That Are In A Rez. Like The Sound of The Box Opening In Spy Hunt, And The Sound of An Empty Shell Hitting All Different Ground Types.

.rez files are in the Game folder of your Combat Arms folder.
They provide the information for the game, and it is believed that if we are able to edit them, we will be able to make our own visual effects, and change things inside the game (for our client). Basically, making it an undetectable hack if we ever manage to get the .rez files edited.

I was searching the same thing on google and came across a whole site on how to use the Lithtech Game Engine which is used to create .rez files.

I dunno if you could use it to 'edit' them but you can use them to create models such as people, worlds and textures.

PM me if you want the site. I've bookmarked it somewhere...

if you're younger than 22 or so then yes (though I was just starting out on a commodore 64 computer back then so it's not like it was hardcore stuff haha)

Damit BA. You keep saying that and no one knows what a commodore 64 is. Computers aren't like cars. When you mention an old one I don't Immediately go "Oh I know what that is." lol. Everytime you say that the only thing I would think to compare it to is a Nintendo64? I'm guessing its a really old box. For the sake of history I'm going to look it up.

For all of you who don't know this is a commodore 64:

Commodore 64 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hmmm apparently the Commodore was an 8 bit computer o_O. During the Commodore 64's lifetime, sales totalled 17 million units, making it the best-selling single personal computer model of all time. Hmmm apparently its pretty famous too bad no one from this generation knows or cares, it really is a shame technology grows so fast.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. This is, I repeat, the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."

You can buy one in a joystick that plays some of the games from back then...
haha you wouldn't believe how bad the graphics were.. Then again a whopping 64Kb or Ram doesn't
    allow for a whole bunch

Don't forget instead of a hard-drive or floppy's it came with... a Tape Drive!

and if you were lucky you'd upgrade to a 5 1/4" floppy drive haha

OMG a tape drive xD. Wow almost burst out laughing in the library here. Lol. The write speed on that must have been phenomenal xD. Here is one of the top of the line games from the age of the commodore:

Notice the groundbreaking graphics in this game which included everything from 2dshapes and colored blocks.
