What these children overlook are the endless days of field stripping your weapons. Hours of hydrating and training. Even more hours of absolutely nothing to do. Hours of firewatch go by like days. Oh and let's not forget after the war. There are actually clean up crews that patrol the area(s) most fought over and detect for then pick up/dispose of both spent and unused rounds. Basically they're picking up bullet casings. Oh yes. It's a real glamorous job.

Thank you, for spreading the joy of my old job.

It really depends, I was a medical officer in the Flint Division and then became a sniper, very boring work; the only conflict I fought in, is the Gaza Strip conflict and after that-well lets say I tried a bottle of painkillers.

Yeah, come back and tell me I didn't fight a land war with stick and stones.
Mouzie is right, the air force is nothing like this. if he's going to airforce its probably to work as an engineer or mechanic, u need to actually pass theyre flying tests so he can actually be permited to fly, and that could take years. thats why they say: in the air force, if your not a pilot, you aint shit

Hey I'm fully aware of the "true" motto of the serviceman. "Hurry up and wait." That's all we do.

Here in Israel, it wasn't really boring. You always had something to do, most common was go joyriding on tanks, humorous to see Jews, slowly riding on the sides of the tanks.

I heard the army and navy think the airforce are panzies. Is this true?

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. This is, I repeat, the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."
    - Dwight D. Eisenhower

    Actually, yes.

Because, it's commonly noticed that the airforce does not face a whole lots of danger then the land forces and the sea forces.

yep, all airforce does is airstrike attacks when promted to do so, but even in ww2 the ones who fought in the sky was the navy not the airforce. RIP ww2 pilots, best pilots of all time~

The main threats is other fighters, commonly military powers like USA and UK does not really face a threat, the Chinese airforce is outdated and the only main one is the Russian planes.

We might joke around about the flyboys but it's not really true. Not from a Marines point of view. Being the first to fight we rather appreciate the air strikes that occur before our landing/jump/etc. Also, I should point out, the USAF does have Spec. Ops soldiers. You should look into that.

I was not a marine, I was just a grunt. As a medical officer, I was known to shout at the enemies to 'fuck off' as running acrosses the apartments. Anyways, I honor you greatly.
