It was a big let down in 2000 (Y2K) when I atleast thought all the computers were going to crash... not even a beep. I think I lost all my faith in end of the world scenarios after that one... Oh and then there was that asteroid that was supposed to hit, but it just so happened to pass by without impact. Earth is too full of lucky SOB's for anything bad to happen.

The earth isn't lucky, we have astronomers keeping their eyes to the sky tracking potential meteorites 50 years in advance before they even get near the earth. We shouldn't lose sleep wondering about a meteorite killing us all.

I watched the movie 2012, the planets are going to align and the sun is going to shoot radiation melting the earths core, and having the tectonic plates shit freely, first comes Volcanoes, due to Volcanoes erupting comes earthquakes which eventually lead to tsunamis, after a while the earth will be back to normal with some changes. The Mayans predicted change, not the end. To be honest, i couldn't give a shit.
