So the game isn't that well done?
It was too easy and the only thing that this game didn't remind me of was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series. Last Light and 2033 look more like Fallout than S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and aren't even half the fun. Took me 8 hours and I got the good Redemption ending.

It's not even suppose to be anything like STALKER.
It's based on a novel.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro_2033_(novel)
Metro 2033 and Last Light was amazing.
But it takes some intellect to grasp it.
You were seeking strength, justice, splendour.
You were seeking love.
Here is the pit, here is your pit.

This is a big one, as there's a lot of overarching metaphors that would go right over the head of most morons. My personal analysis is that the entire concept of the world being destroyed, is that of the greed of man, and our want to exploit all we see for our own means. Of course this ends in tragedy though, with us destroying all that we held so dearly in the process. We overstepped the boundaries of nature, and instead of venturing forward, we regressed back into our caves, the metro. Another one was the destruction of the Dark Ones, it touches strongly on our need to destroy what we don't understand; And also our need to scapegoat our problems, never accepting the consequences of what we've done to the world, what we've done to ourselves. The small dark one represents a new seed, a chance to step out of the fog, and start again. He forgave Artyom for what he did, because he knew deep down, that humanity has a chance, and looked at our positive aspects. While the different factions warred in the tunnels, and the mutants slaughtered each other on the radioactive surface, the commonfolk continued to survive, to thrive. That to me, is the greatest thing I got out of the game, the sense of realness, the emotional impact. Last Light shows humanity in its purest form, both the worst, and the best. Our greed, our violence, but also our innocence, and our ability to rebuild what was once lost.

Well said, it's like right out of the novel.
Your take is incredibly close to mine, but the rebuild part didn't really settle in that well for me.
Sure, they receded back into the metro because their mistakes, your mistake; that has led to the top-world being uninhabitable.
But in my world residing in tunnels doesn't really count that high on my rebuild scale.
But hey, that's just me, you shedding light on that just reminded me that I didn't think about that aspect.

Just look at all the innocent bystanders, families, merchants, butchers, artists, workers, and the such. The talent show in Teatr is a huge one for me, people making music, dancing, the laughing audience, animal tamers, all human comforts in a bleak and lifeless world. Children are raised in dark confines of the metro, adults tell them stories of what life used to be like, and they run and and laugh and play in the new world.. The metros used to be nothing but poisoned tunnels, devoid of hope, but they are now bustling with life and energy, and mankind is pulling through despite the horrors around them. Not rebuilding in the traditional sense, but returning to what truly makes us human.

Metro 2033 and last light were amazing in all aspects. but one thing i couldn't understand was why were the dark ones intrested in artyom and how could the little dark one speak.
