i bought a 1080p screen so i could watch cool shit like blu-ray

BUT NO, JUST FUCKING NOOOOOOOOO

i get (download/buy-ish) movies
always shitty res

1280x534
or
1920×800

and i end up having crappy black bars on a wide screen monitor, this is some fucking crazy shit.
i had 17' in monitor for 5 years and i finally decide to upgrade to a 22 in' monitor after being tierd of the shitty black bars i get during wide screen movies, but still THE FUCKING BLACK BARS COME BACK TO HAUNT ME!!!!!
i know i can crop it but thats just gay...
i dont want to crop my video
i want a proper blu-ray resolution FFS
