how do people have gifs in there posts and avatar?

Upload it like a normal photo.

.gif is an image type like all the rest.

You have to make sure it's within your restrictions, otherwise the image will resized and it won't be animated.

you could use the program GifSplitter and resize/split the pictures of a .gif.. maybe it will help you too O:

This happened to me too but i simply uploaded another image and it worked try it.
