    Looking to upgrade monitor

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my monitor. I have an old ViewSonic, which does the job, but it makes me feel like I'm on XP(I'm on windows 7). I have a macbook pro, and I love that display, I mean it' just so clear and beautiful. Do you guys have any recommendations? I'm not trying to spend over $200 and I'm looking at getting something around 23in.

Do you guys recommend this monitor? It is on the top ten best sellers on amazon... https://amzn.to/1rIJjVJ
^^ just realized its not glossy... :/

But yeah, I'm open to suggestions.

On another note, if you have any graphic cards that you'd also recommend under $200, please do

Well if you have a macbook with a 'retina display' then you won't be able to get a monitor that will provide that high of a resolution in your price range. If you are just looking for a standard 1080p monitor, I personally would go with that monitor. It's quite cheap, 24 Inch, IPS Display, and adequate enough response time IMO.

That ASUS monitor is pretty good, as all of their monitors are. I would say go for that one, ASUS has never disappointed me or anyone I know.

Thanks for the reply, yeah no I have a mid 2012 which doesn't have retina display. I think the main thing about screens is that I like them glossy... I think you are right though, I'll most likely buy this!

Nah don't worry too much, you can't really go wrong with Asus in terms of build quality and bang for buck~ .

Asus is kinda like Apple, very good tech but not that overpriced so Asus is your best choice.

Edit: I was going to sugest the graphics card, but after checking @Kerbasi sugestion i agree with him.

For under 200$ you should get:
    - MSI AMD Radeon R9 270X Gaming 2GB GDDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card

    https://www.amazon.com/MSI-R9-270X-Di.../dp/B00FR6XP6I

    189.99$

    or

    - MSI Computer Corp. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Gaming OC 2GB GDDR5 VGA/DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card N750TI TF 2GD5/OC

    https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-C.../dp/B00I6DLIB8

    159.99$

For the graphics card, it depends on it really.

What graphics card do you currently have?

I would suggest waiting actually if you have a neat graphics card, because 2015 is not very far off.

    - -

But if you really want a new graphics card, I would suggest going for these:

    - MSI AMD Radeon R9 270X Gaming 2GB GDDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card

    https://www.amazon.com/MSI-R9-270X-Di.../dp/B00FR6XP6I

    189.99$

    or

    - MSI Computer Corp. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Gaming OC 2GB GDDR5 VGA/DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card N750TI TF 2GD5/OC

    https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-C.../dp/B00I6DLIB8

    159.99$

Faster than a normal Gtx Geforce 750.

Obviously the AMD R9 270X is the big winner because it's newer and has newer chips then the Gtx 750TI, but it's 30$ more expensive so yeah the choice is up to you ofcourse. :P
