If you are having bootup slowdown, do this:
Start>Run>MSCONFIG
goto the boot section and select you OS
click advanced
select Number of processors and select the highest.
This will give you a noticably faster startup
Screenie
Click thanks if I helped

Wrong section. Dont ask for thanks if everyone already knows. ;(

If anyone claims to be me via any other source outside of MPGH private or visitor messages, IT'S NOT ME!
They are trying to trick or scam you. Report them immediately and PM me here for verification.

I do not do requests via PM. Post in the appropriate section.
Stupid/Pointless Private messages = SPAM, SPAM = BAN.
I actually didn't know this.
This is stupid.
Won't do anything, infact, this could harm your processor.
No it doesn't, that doesn't even make sense.
It's used to limit the amount of cores your processor uses.
If you put more than you have, you are only confusing your motherboard.
it does make sense...it wouldnt confuse the motherboard anyway...yes, it is limiting the amount of cores but I am showing how to make it more wich results in faster bootup...if you don't want to do it fine but quit trying to prove something here
I've already proved something, that you are wrong.
Setting more cores than you have is just illogical.
That's like ordering 3 pizzas when you can only eat 2.
Just give up.
W.e.. I am keeping the post because it helps (smart) people.
Also, you can download things like CCleaner to clean your pc of useless files. GameBooster to help make your computer run faster playing games. Another way is to go to start> Accessories> System> Disk cleanup after that go to Disk defragmentor. Or take your computer apart and clean it. Also if your running a desktop computer you can add storage or with any computer you can upgrade things like your graphics card or buy a better computer
Haha that was gonna be another post..but u are spot on..there are hundreds of third party programs such as gamebooster which frees up services and processes making any pc tolerable for gaming
