Can someone please tell me why my build-in sound will not appear in the playback settings and why my built-in mic wont show up in the recording settings. In the pic "hidden" playback and recording devices are shown. I would appreciate any help!

check device manager and see if your sound driver is there.
or scan for hardware changes.

Check if you driver is updated. Outdated drivers cause those type of problems. You can download a program called Driver Booster or Driver Genius and it i'll tell you if your drivers are updated or not. If it is, then uninstall and re-install the driver as (the driver files) might be corrupted. If none of thid worked add me on skype so i can help you further (you can add me on skype by pressing the skype button on my signature).

the information you provided is not enough to make a conclusion, anyways from your screenies. it tell that your audio device IS installed and IS working properly, do you know the sound volume adjust in your taskbar/notification area. click that while playing music and do a screenshot, it should show something like mine



if something like that shows up. that means your physical connection to the audio jack/wire/speaker is most likely the problem

I cant... It dosnt show up in the playback devices for me to enable/disable so when I turn up the volume it goes to the next available device which is my virtual audio cable which is not what I want. Just ask me for anymore information and I can get it

anyways. from your screenshot, your sound control panel DOES NOT detect your sound device, that is strange given that the device manager detects your audio hardware. let me review your screenshots.
