I think you're confusing a cessation of heart activity with death, as you weren't dead, only in a state of cardiac arrest. For you to be alive now you must have obviously still had brain activity, or else you would be in a box in the ground or a vegetable on life support. Yes it qualifies as an NDE (Near Death Experience), but overall you were merely in a temporary coma, most likely brought on by mental shock, or lack of blood flow.

That'd explain why I saw flashes of things, as my brain had to have been still active for that to happen. Thanks you for correcting that, I don't understand why the doctor said a technically died... xD

No. In medicine today, doctors generally regard brain death as the main determiner for death, as our brain really is all we are. All of our other organs only act to support, protect, and further the existence of our noggins. For example, we could easily shove a respirator and an artificial heart pump into a decapitated man's body, but does that bring him back to life?
