Hardware ID bans?

I used to cheat a lot, and I sold/made cheats too in DayZ Mod and Arma 2 OA. I was wondering, do Battleye hardware ID ban?

I have tried making new steam accounts and buying the game over again, but I still get banned. Is this a possibility? It was a while back, so perhaps it was some junk files I left in the game directory. I will play it safe this time, but does anyone know if they do this?

They ban your steam account ID, along with your CD key that's placed in your registry key. Make a new steam account and verify that your CD-Key got changed when you purchased a new Arma 2 and OA

Oooooh. I might know what it is. I used to only buy arma 2 once and just buy new oa games for new accounts. Do you think I need to have a new arma 2 key as well?

No, BE does not have support for HWID bans built in, only GUID (steamID + registry key) and IP. You do not need to buy a new Arma 2 copy, just Arma 2 OA. Create a new steam account, login and activate a new copy of Arma 2 OA on it. Then when you launch dayz mod through commander/launcher/etc your GUID will be different, so long as you stay logged in to the new account.
