Well considering the fact that the PSAT are virtually useless unless your aiming for a scholarship then I wouldn't really worry about it...

Its pretty different from the SAT but its mainly just a preview of those who want a sneak peek.

Yeah but in Texas it's pretty important and alot of people try to do well.

I actually took it today, not too too bad. It is actually quite easy, I would suggest not using a calculator, my teacher said it helps you prepare mental math for the real SATs.

1. Always use a calculator so you can use guess and check and check your answers. IN the real SAT you can use a calculator so why put yourself at a disadvantage by not using one (unless you're a freshman or sophomore).
2. This test wasn't hard the questions were just really tricky.

Oh got it. Well here they let you take it as many times as you want, you just have to pay for it.

For my city, the schools pay for the PSAT during your sophomore year so every sophomore takes it. You can take it again next year as a junior but you have to pay like $20 for it. Same thing goes for seniors.

My advice is start taking SAT classes as soon as possible. That way you can get prepared by the time the SAT's roll around junior year. People don't usually study for the PSAT so its mainly used to see where your at. The SAT is what counts.

On that note, you don't really study for the SAT's. You train for it. When you take classes you take around 4 practice SAT (not the PSAT but actual SAT exams that are created for your class). The information is pretty basic because the math only goes up to Algebra 2 and the English is pretty much what you should already know. The key factor is basically learning the tricks on how to take the SAT. With the tricks, you apply your knowledge in order to solve the problem as fast as possible and to get it right.

The SAT depends on what college you want to apply to. Some look at the SAT differently then others. Some just require you to take the ACT.
