Illustrator is better for logos and vectors. Photoshop is better for manipulation 'n shit.
Though I only use PS because I've been using it for so long that learning Illustrator was both annoying and not fun.

100% my situation xD. I say PS because I am so used to it it's harder to learn how to use othersoftware xD

Same here, I can basically do anything Illustrator does in photoshop but i still had to learn it in college and i didn't like it.

You can't. Illustrator is infinitely better at vector based graphics and has a lot of features that aren't achievable in photoshop. In fact photoshop vectors aren't even real vectors, you're always going to be working with raster based images.

Illustrator is incredibly good at vector and object based design.

Go with Illustrator, i find it much better than photoshop, and it seems to be easier to work with.
