I have a problem with Windows 8 too but manage to get a solution for it. Are you using Intel Graphics Drivers? My game crashes from time to time earlier and I check the log and apparently it is due to the configuration of Intel Graphics and Windows 8. Run BlackShot on your graphic card(Mine is Nvidia) then it will work.
