Help me understand how bans work?

Okay so I'm having a hard time understanding how these steam bans work now.

I have 4 Arma 3 steam accounts

1, My main steam account with all my games since 2004 (Non hacking account)

2, used for scripting aka "hacking"

3, spare

4, spare


So I got an admin ban on a server on account #2 which I understand is also an IP ban, so I use a VPN since I have a staticIP (ISP out of new IPs cannot get a new one...)

So new IP, new steam account and bam when I join I still get the ban message from the previous steam account/different IP

I checked in the menu to see if the player ID is different and indeed it is.

So how does this work? Are bans now tied to PC hardware somehow? How can they know?

You probably forgot to change your name or something like that, either that or the server auto bans VPNs, that is possible.

New IP + New player profile + New steam account + new copy of arma 3 + Family sharing off = Clean key

Perhaps it was me, between the account switching/remembering the VPN etc entirely possible.

To make sure I'll buy a new SSD and try a new install of windows/steam etc.

Fresh install for 2015 long time coming lol, BTW 50% off arma3 on the BI store for retards like me!

I managed to play Altis Life with a friend without using hacks for a week, until every 1hr or so my cars started exploding didn't take me long after that to find who was trolling me.

There's always that one muppet that has to ruin it for me!
