EDITING CA FILES

Alright so i have been working on a few things here and there, and also fucking around with some CA files. With the help of B1ackAnge1 and his amazing mind / software we may have found a way to edit the .rez files in CA.

If you don't know what a .rez file is listen up. A .rez file is a file type that is a compression of diff. files. For example: Combat Arms has .rez files, within the .rez files are files like .dtx, and MANY others.

The main one we are talking about here are the .dtx files. They are the image files from Combat Arms that are in-fact the textures. Although the only way to edit them is if they are a certain file type. But with the help on B1lackAnge1 and his software we can edit this files and convert them BACK into a normal ca, .dtx file.

Our only problem at the moment is finding a program that lets you PACK these files BACK into a .rez file.

To spark your intrest a little more i am going to show you a couple screen shots of the texture files we are able to edit:

Alright but you get the idea. There LOTS more files and LOTS more to edit etc.

What i guess im asking the community by this post is to spark your interest and join in to help and try to find a .rez packer.

So keep on the look out, and please don't bother me with this, like about the public hacks hahaha

EDIT Sept. 22, 2009 - We may use some people from the gfx section to implement some of there skills
EDIT Sept. 23, 2009 - Alright i have found the .rez packer!!!! I did some testing by making some small adjustments to the map, and this is what i got! I will keep you guys more up to date when we get some more things edited and when we can actually release a whole package!

So like you would actually change the way the player looks but only for yourself? it's that what you are trying to do? Oh and while your at the why not try to mod a file and see if it makes you shoot through walls. Nah just joking. Good luck in your research!

no this will only allow the changes to be made, and seen by YOU.
this will help in some cases and some cases it may not.
for example, by editing a wall, i can edit to to be semi-transparent and maybe have a light red effect so that you KNOW its a wall. but this way you have NO hack, like wall hack, and you can still be able to see where the opponent is.

What whitten is trying to say is :
It'll be like making an undetectable chams/wallhack.
There's no way (yet) that Nexon can know if you edited their files or if they are the original files, so this would have NO way to be detected.

It'll be like making an undetectable chams/wallhack.
There's no way (yet) that Nexon can know if you edited their files or if they are the original files, so this would have NO way to be detected.

No, it's more like you can edit the games appearance to you, to the point of you being able to see people through walls, and possibly fly (using CHAR_M_BODY.rez, I'm not quite sure if that might work, I'm only saying theoretically), all without using a real "hack".

but when nexon patches the game, dosn't it revert the files? so you would have to change it everytime you finish patching

What effort? You press Ctrl + C, and then Ctrl + V in a different place and it'll take like 2 seconds on my computer. If it takes effort on yours, consider getting a new computer.

Good to hear, whitten, could you start me up on hacks? I only have experience with VB08 and I'm even terrible at that... not only that, but my trial has run out, need a way around that...
