Will there ever be a name cleanup for inactive accounts?

I really wanted the name @versace but I noticed that it is being used by an inactive account. The last activity was on the join date and that was ~2 years ago.

Even though I would agree, Dave will probably not do it because if that person trys to return to MPGH after a break or for whatever reason, him and the rest of the staff will have to deal with returning users that no longer have their account name and then they complain. It would just be too much of a hastle.

I name cleanup might be nice, but I feel that may cause some issues.
Even if inactive for 2 years, some people do come back, I've seen it.

In my opinion though they will most likely end up doing a name cleanup eventually, weither it is this year, or 5 years from now. I think they might be able to pull it off without a bunch of issues if they posted a message on the main part of the site and sent emails to any accounts that have been inactive for over 2 years.

Liz might be likely to give you the username if you ask nicely. I know we used to do it, I don't know if things changed.

It was probably because the name was attached to an account that was inactive for quite some time.

Now because we have > 3 million users, Liz probably won't actually allow that.

Besides, most usernames that are wanted by users are banned or unverified or inactive but that could change. Someone may be inactive for a year due to studies and then come back and be like wtf... I can't log in

But the thing is. This person has never made a post or anything. And they haven't logged in since creation date. My guess is they probably just made the account to download a cod hack or something and then left. forgetting about the website.

ppl that unverified and inactive for 2 years or something and another member want this name liz and admin change the inactive member and add anything " ' " or number for example "David" The inactive member to "Davi.d" Or anything
