Most religions are practiced peacefully, however at their core most major religions are not peaceful.(especially the abrahamic ones).


Government can force a religion on you, it's called a "theocracy" it existed for quite some time in human history.(didn't end well).


Most people won't force anything on you, no. But at the same time just because the people don't do it, doesn't mean the religion doesn't promote that.
